How pilates works
Your pilates journey
Pilates is based on principles of controlled movement, breath and body awareness. Through regular practice, you'll develop strength, flexibility, and a deeper understanding of how your body moves.
The role of the instructor is to guide your form, challenge your capacity, and ensure you're moving safely and effectively to achieve your goals.
Make a booking
First book an initial consultation. You can do this through our online booking form, or if you like give us a call first to chat.
Initial consultation
These take 45-60 minutes and include a movement assessment, injury history, goal discussion, and your first Pilates session where we'll introduce you to our studio equipment and teaching style.
Customised Program
Based on this assessment, your instructor will develop a program to address your specific needs and goals.
Your sessions may include a range of equipment such as two specialised reformers and pilates chair, along with mat work, props, and specific progressions tailored to your body.
Regular pilates classes
Consistency is key with Pilates. Most clients see the best results with 1-2 sessions per week, though this can vary based on your goals.
As you progress, your program will evolve to continue challenging your body and building on the foundation you've developed.
